Kate and Ian are two qualified teachers of English and French (degrees in Linguistics, English, a PGCE and TEFL cert.).

We have a wealth of teaching experience between us with over 20 years living and teaching in France. We know only too well how hard it can be to improve one’s French, and how frustrating it can seem when some people master things quickly whilst others struggle. Language learning requires confidence and belief.

Grammatical perfection may be ideal for some, but effective communication and chatting enjoyably are far more useful when wanting to get the most out of living in France.

We use a variety of materials that are both relevant and interesting: articles sourced from newspapers, TV, local life and your own interests. Experience shows that people are more motivated in talking about things that interest them.

Kate and Ian have different teaching styles but they share one aim: to encourage and support you in your progress with the French language.
